Internship information
General Farm Description: Marshallville Farms has been a farm for over 100 years and it was operating as an ornamental tree farm when we purchased it in 2015. We have a total of 25 acres fronting on the Tuckahoe River, with 11 tillable acres. We have obtained a Commercial Farm from the Cape May County Agricultural Development Board. We have installed a new 4" irrigation well, 2 high tunnels, drip irrigation in the field and in the high tunnels, and 10 'deer fencing around the perimeter of the farm. We have been selling our chicken and duck eggs for 6 years. This will be our Third year for our raspberry, blackberry and strawberry production, and our Second year for blueberry production. We were open in 2021 for the first time for U-pick strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. We have an on site farm stand where we sell our eggs, fruits and vegetables. We are looking to expand our crop production on the remaining acreage, and possibly hold agricultural classes/events in the future. This year was our first year for tapping red maples for sap with the assistance of the Stockton Maple Grant. Seed starting and beekeeping experience would be an asset.
