General Farm Description: At Nine Acre Farm we grow and sell sunflowers and raw honey from our beehives. We are a small farm located in Skillman NJ.

Internship Details:

The job includes working in the field cutting flowers each morning, bunching flowers, stocking the farm stand, preparing for weekend farmer’s market as well as field maintenance including running drip lines and cleaning equipment. Position includes harvesting and bottling honey from our beehives. Our workday starts early – near sunrise.

Educational Opportunities: Opportunity to learn all aspects of flower production including soil preparation, field maintenance, harvesting, prepping for market and selling. Opportunity to learn all aspects of beekeeping from building hives and frames to caring for bees and harvesting honey.

Skills Desired: Individual must have an "artistic eye" for cutting and bunching high quality flowers. Individuals must be attentive to detail, arrive on time, have a strong work ethic and be prepared to work for the entire season (until Mid-October). Prior farm experience is preferred and prior floral experience is a plus. Must have the physical ability to lift 25-30 pounds. No beekeeping experience is required - we will teach you.
