Internship information
General Farm Description: Foxtail Farm is a chemical free, minimal till farm located in the beautiful St. Croix River Valley of Western Wisconsin. Foxtail is perfectly positioned an hour from the Twin Cities and minutes away from several beautiful state parks. Between access to all the metro has to offer and loads of outdoor activities nearby, it's easy to keep occupied around here while not farming.  This year we continue the process of transitioning our farm to a no-till operation. We firmly believe in the power of our natural world and strive to steward natural systems whenever possible. We do not use chemicals, but instead choose to build the soil web and use IPM to fight pests of all kinds. No/minimal till focuses on farming at a scale based on human power. We feel striving to farm at this capacity is not only a better scale for the environment, but for all of us on the farm. We feel more connected to our work, to the Earth we occupy, and to the food we grow for our community. Human scale farming means we do work hard. We still find time to enjoy the fruits of our labor by occasionally hosting events at the farm, sharing community meals, and gifting our bounty to others whenever possible. We would be ecstatic to welcome you to our team for the 2025 season
