General Farm Description: 2 acres of certified organic mixed vegetables, herbs, and cut flowers surrounded by 7 acres of woods. We have 3 automated high tunnels with 10' trellis systems for cucumbers and tomatoes. Banford Road Farm is a certified organic vegetable farm in Woodstock, IL.
Position #1: We are looking for a driver/vendor to load a van and trailer at the farm in Woodstock on Saturday mornings. You will drive the farm vehicle from Woodstock to the market site, set up the display, and sell from 7am-1pm. Total work hours for the Saturday position are 3:30am-2:30pm, May through October. There is also a Sunday market position available. You will drive the farm vehicle from Woodstock to the market site, set up the display, and sell from 7am-1pm. Hours are 5:15am to 3pm on Sundays, May through October. Starting pay for market positions is $20/hour.
Duties include setting up tents, tables, arranging produce carefully, setting up price tags, and selling to customers. We do not have a cash register, so you must be able to do simple mental math. All of our prices are whole dollar amounts, with no additional sales tax added. You just add the items in your head and give customers a total and give correct change in cash. We don’t use coins. You must be able to lift 40lb totes of produce.
I prefer a morning person who is friendly, who’s interested in farming or gardening, and who enjoys talking to people. I strongly prefer someone 25 or older for insurance purposes. I strongly prefer someone who lives locally in Woodstock or within 15 minutes of Woodstock.
Position #2 We need help on the farm doing flower harvest, wash/pack of vegetables, planting, and weeding. Starting pay is $17/h. Mon-Fri 7am-12pm. 25 hours per week. This position can turn into full time depending on your performance.
