Internship information
General Farm Description: Pacific Crest Farm is a 21-acre farm located on Vashon/Maury Island. Our farm is in owned by Pacific Crest Montessori School, which is located in Seattle. PCS students play an active role in the farm, coming out for weekly day trips, spring overnights and summer camps. We grow mixed vegetables, berries and flowers on less than 2 acres using methods that go beyond organic requirements. We harvest from a diverse orchards of fruit and nut trees, including apples, pears, cherries, plums, figs, hazels and chestnuts. In addition, we raise chickens and sheep. We are a regenerative farm, using no-till methods, hand-scale cultivation, crop rotations and other sustainable land management techniques. We sell our produce on island through our popular roadside farm stand and to local restaurants. Wild Dreams Farm, a shy two acre piece of land on Vashon Island’s west side, is lovingly tended by, Jennifer Williams, alongside her family and friends. Over time this piece of land has transformed from a blackberry thicket to a market garden to a lavender farm to a homestead and finally today, to a biodiverse food, medicine and seed farm. Jen is always learning and changing and this land reflects her evolution of heart and inspiration. The vision of Wild Dreams Farm is to ensure abundance and biodiversity in our culture and in our food system for generations to come by growing food and medicines and by breeding open pollinated vegetables, herbs, and seeds which nourish our human and more than human communities.
