Internship information
General Farm Description: On our farm, we grow a diversified selection of seasonal vegetables, cut flowers, and perennial crops. We grow year round in our high tunnels, caterpillar tunnels, and greenhouse. Our cut flower season begins in January and runs through October. We grow a wide variety of specialty cut flowers for florists, grocery stores, and the farmers’ market. Our perennial crops include over half an acre of asparagus and blueberries. For produce, we grow a diverse selection of annual crops including strawberries, lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes, squash and a whole lot more. Although we are not certified we do use only OMRI approved materials and organic practices. Our farm is conveniently located 20 minutes outside downtown Durham.CRAFT Member Farm? Yes

Internship Details:
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team for the upcoming season, contributing to our day-to-day farm operations. If you have a passion for farming and a strong work ethic, we invite you to apply. Individuals with experience or particularly motivated to work with cut flowers will be strongly considered.
Tasks Include:
- Harvesting a diverse range of produce and flowers
- Washing and processing vegetables
- Crafting bouquets
- Weeding and planting crops
- Contributing to various farm improvement projects
- Engaging in greenhouse work
Qualifications We Value:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Comfortable working in all types of weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and keen attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and adapt to various tasks

Preferred availability is 4-5 days a week, Our days run from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (depending on the season) with a half hour lunch break. This schedule is flexible for the right candidate.

Skills Desired: Experience on a farm is not necessary but is highly valued. The ideal candidate is someone who can maintain a positive attitude while working efficiently in all of the elements.
Meals: No but home grade produce is available.
Stipend: We offer a competitive hourly wage that will depend on the experience of the applicant. In addition, employees will be able to take home extra produce and flowers at the end of the day.
