Internship Details:
We are looking for someone to help us on the farm a few days a week plus help with farmers market on Saturdays. We run a big plant sale starting in mid May and then have vegetables coming on at some point in June. Work on the farm will involve a combination of helping customers at the farm stand, restocking produce, field work such as planting, hand cultivation, mowing and maintaining field perimeters and irrigation ditches, watering starts, irrigation, harvesting, washing and packing vegetables, and all aspects of farmers market.
We can be somewhat flexible on schedules and hours and are open to multiple part-time or one full-time person.
Educational Opportunities: At Little Fresh we understand the value that comes from a well-rounded farm apprenticeship. We also understand that not everyone is looking for the same farm experience. We want to train our workers in the areas they're most interested to learn about. Whether this means a focus on business and record keeping, marketing, or field production, our goal is to help people learn the skills they want to learn. We do not do any formal educational work. Instead we view the entire farm experience as a hands-on learning.
Skills Desired: We are looking for someone who is capable of using a lawn mower, string trimmer, backpack sprayer and various hand tools. Experience or interest in farmers markets is also a plus but not necessary. We are happy to train people as needed.
