General Farm Description: Using proven sustainable farming practices on 100 beautiful acres of pasture and forest, we raise pasture-raised animals to produce the most wholesome food possible. In order to serve the meat we raise, in 2017, we opened a farm-to-table restaurant 5 miles from the farm, The Hungry Diner (HungryDinerWalpole.com) We sell mostly to our local community members at our busy farm store and also local food co-ops. We also have a beautiful 1774 Bed and Breakfast on the farm, The Inn at Valley Farms. (InnatValleyFarms.com) where guests can stay and learn about sustainable agriculture.

Internship Details:

All internships will learn how to raise grass-fed and pasture-raised animals using sustainable farming techniques. Learn the ins and outs first hand using proven farming methods. Our mission is to pass on these important skills to others, thus strengthening the future of farming. Specific work includes daily movements of cattle and poultry on fresh pastures, rotating pigs in acorn-laded forested areas to supplement their diet. Direct sales to customers in our farm store optional if desired to learn interactions with customers while learning about all cuts of meat and how to cook them for your family. Optional opportunities learning about hospitality at our Farm-to-Table Restaurant and Bed & Breakfast if desired.


Educational Opportunities: Learn how to raise 100% Grass-Fed Beef, Pasture-Raised Chickens, Turkeys, Pigs and Eggs. Composting, direct-sales marketing and small business management skills. Further advancement and longer term employment opportunities are possible for those who show interest.

Skills Desired: No previous farming experience required. A desire to learn, a positive attitude, and the ability to work hard physically the only requirement.

Meals: Food stipend included for use at our farm store. Choose from beef, chicken, pork, turkey, eggs, cheeses, maple syrup, honey, jams, and jellies or anything else in our farm store.

Stipend: $1500/month

Housing: Free on-farm housing with all services included. Heat, Hot Water, Washer/dryer, WiFi, trash & snow removal included.
