Internship informationGeneral Farm Description: An 80 acre legacy farm in rural Vermont. We are a diversified organic farm with flowers, berries, herbs, laying hens, meat birds, pigs, and value added products like jam and salsa. Vegetable production is around 7 acres. The land is conserved by the Vermont land trust and incorporates many conservation practices to encourage biodiversity and sustainability. These include bee colonies, bat houses, wildlife habitats and wildflower plantings. Owner and operator Greg Cox and his family have been growing for 40 years in west Rutland, Vermont. Boardman Hill Farm is well-known in the local community for a lot more than delicious food: it’s an incubator farm that has jump-started many local farms and food projects, and has been a key player in building up the local food system.
