General Farm Description: About Chance Farm We focus on producing high quality vegetables by following organic practices and good land stewardship in Bozeman, MT. Chance Farm grows 30+ varieties of vegetables that we sell at Farmers’ Markets, restaurants, grocery stores, wholesale accounts, and a small CSA. What is it like to Work at Chance Farm? Members of our tight-knit crew participate in many aspects of vegetable production including greenhouse seeding, planting, weeding, pruning, trellising, harvesting, wash and packing orders, farm maintenance, and farmers’ Markets. During the main season, our team consists of 10 people. We utilize scale-appropriate tools to save time, reduce wear and tear on our bodies, and increase efficiency and productivity. Be an active member of a small team that takes pride in their work, and grow together! What’s Happening in Montana Gallatin Valley has a lot going on! Under the beautiful open skies of Montana there is lots of hiking, fishing, and backpacking. And, hey! Just a short 2 hour drive to Yellowstone! HARVEST MANAGER
Full-time: 35-45 hours/week
When: April 1st – October 31st (weather dependent)
Compensation: $17/hr+ DOE
We are seeking a positive, detail-oriented and self-motivated individual with strong communication and leadership skills to join us in the role of Harvest Manager. The Harvest Manager is responsible for leading the crew to execute the daily harvest plan.
PACK-HOUSE MANAGER
Full-time: 35-45 hours/week
When: May 1st – October 31st (weather dependent)
Compensation: $17/hr+ DOE
We are seeking a strong leader who is detail oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while rocking out to their favorite playlist! This position leads the washing and packing of produce for farmers’ Markets, CSA shares, and local wholesale accounts in our packhouse.
NURSERY MANAGER
Full-time: 35-45 hours/week
When: March – October 31st (weather dependent)
Compensation: $16/hr+ DOE
We are seeking a positive, detail-oriented and self-motivated individual with strong communication skills to join us in the role of Nursery Manager. The primary responsibility of the Nursery Manager is seeding on schedule, and caring for transplants and microgreens.
MARKET MANAGER
Full-time: 25-30 hours/week
When: June 1st – September 31st
Compensation: Starting at $15/hr DOE plus Commission (Avg. around $18/hr)
We are seeking a positive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual with strong customer service skills to join us in the role of Market Manager. The Market Manager is responsible for carrying out 2 farmers’ market each week while leading one crew member, and harvesting one day on the farm.
PACK-HOUSE ASSISTANT
Full-time: 35-45 hours/week
When: May 1st – October 31st (weather dependent)
Compensation: $15/hr+ DOE
We are seeking a positive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual who will thrive in a fast-paced environment to join us in the role of Packhouse Assistant. This position primarily assists Packhouse Manager with washing and packing orders, maintaining the packhouse and cooler, and tracking produce and supplies inventory. The rest of time will be spent working on a variety of tasks including field work, and harvesting.
DELIVERY & FARM CREW MEMBER
Full-time: 35-45 hours/week
When: May 1st – October 31st (weather dependent)
Compensation: $16/hr+ DOE
We are seeking a positive, detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with strong customer service skills to join us in the role of Delivery & Farm Crew Member. In this position, the opportunity to participate in many aspects of the farm operations is possible! Time will be split between deliveries, field work, and harvesting giving this position the opportunity to be a part of a team and work independently.
FARM & MARKET CREW
Full-time & Part-time
When: June 1st – September 31st
Compensation: $15/hr+ DOE
Our Farm Crew members are the backbone of Chance Farm, carrying out the day-to-day tasks needed to meet our seasonal production and sales goals. Farm work will be split between field/greenhouse, harvesting and packing, and farmers’ markets.
PART-TIME HARVEST CREW
Part-time: 25-30 hours/week
When: June 1st – September 31st
Compensation: $15/hr+ DOE
