Kitchen Garden Farm is hiring an experienced tractor operator to join our farm’s Production Crew for the 2023 season. Full time positions start in April and run through Thanksgiving. Year-round work possible for multi-year commitment.
We are looking for highly energetic, motivated and passionate individuals who want to join our farm’s core team to produce high quality organic vegetables.
Production crew responsibilities include greenhouse seeding, tillage, transplanting, cultivation, hand weeding, irrigation, pest and fertility management, vehicle and equipment maintenance, bulk harvest, and other farm tasks. Minimum one year previous farm experience required, preferably including some tractor operation. Valid driver’s license, strong attention to detail, safe handling of equipment, ability to work independently and on a team, and eagerness to learn are all essential. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work Monday through Saturday April-November with speed, endurance, and good cheer. Hours are generally 7am-5pm M-F and 8am-1pm every other Saturday, an average of 45-50 hours per week in peak season. On the job training provided. Must be willing to commit to the full 2023 season.
Educational Opportunities: On the job training in all farm systems and tractor safety and operations.
Skills Desired: Minimum one year previous farm experience required, preferably including some tractor operation.
Meals: Farm lunch is provided M-F plus unlimited vegetables.
Stipend: Starting wage is $17/hour plus overtime > 40 hours.
