Internship information
General Farm Description: Whisper Hill Farm is a certified organic vegetable farm located in beautiful Scottsville, Virginia. Entering our 17th season, we intensively grow 5 acres of certified organic vegetables. You can find our seasonal harvest, from vibrant greens to delicious tomatoes, through our convenient credit-based CSA program and local farmers' markets in the Charlottesville area. We are committed to sustainable and responsible farming practices. Our fields are certified organic, meaning we utilize healthy ecological methods—including crop rotation and cover crops—while proudly avoiding all synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and GMOs. This commitment ensures our produce is fresh, flavorful, and healthy for both our customers and the local ecosystem. At the core of our operation is a strong set of values: we believe that hard work and efficiencies allow us to bring the highest quality products from our fields directly to our customers. We also firmly champion diversity, inclusion, and equity within our team and our community, striving to create a welcoming and fair environment for everyone who interacts with our farm.
