Internship information
General Farm Description: Field of Dreams Farm is a family operated farm committed to producing delicious and healthful meats and eggs for Nashville and the surrounding areas. We use no chemicals on our farm allowing all our livestock and poultry to benefit from our fertile pastures, rich in nutrients. The feeds we use are non-GMO. We are located in Watertown, Tennessee and currently raise pastured eggs, chicken, duck, turkey, pork and beef. Almost immediately after viewing “Food Inc.” in April 2010, we began making plans to raise our own meats and also to produce extra for individuals interested in purchasing good clean food. We’ve gone from a 5 acre farm in Lebanon, TN to our 115 acre farm in Watertown in order that we can continue to grow and supply more and more people with our delicious products. We supplement our poultry with non-gmo grains using a combination of fish meal and soy for their protein. Our pigs also eat non-gmo grains from the Mennonite community in KY; And of course our cows only eat grass. We firmly believe in the humane treatment of animals allowing them to thrive in their natural manner, enjoying the outdoors as they were meant to. We believe in raising our animals, benefiting from the earth, and thus the earth benefiting from the animals.CRAFT Member Farm? No
