Grassland Conservation Reserve Program Accepting Enrollments Through August 8

USDA announced that agricultural producers and private landowners can enroll in the Grassland Conservation Reserve Program (Grassland CRP) through August 8, 2025. Grassland CRP, offered by USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA), is a voluntary working lands conservation program that enables participants to conserve grasslands while also continuing most grazing and haying practices. FSA provides participants with rental payments and cost-share assistance under 10- to 15-year contracts. Grassland CRP helps landowners and operators protect grassland, including rangeland, and pastureland, and certain other lands, while maintaining the areas as grazing lands. The program works to minimize conversion of grassland, and supports grazing operations, wildlife habitat, forage production, and other uses. Landowners and producers interested in Grassland CRP should contact their local USDA Service Center to learn more or apply for the program.
