Minnesota Livestock Investment Grant Program

Applications are due by November 13, 2025.
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is accepting applications for the fiscal year 2026 Agriculture Growth, Research, and Innovation Livestock Investment Grant Program, which helps farmers start, improve, or expand livestock operations by funding equipment purchases, facility improvements, and new construction. Farmers can now receive 50% reimbursement on the first $20,000 of eligible expenses and 25% on additional expenses, up to a maximum grant award of $25,000. The MDA expects to award approximately $1.4 million through a competitive review process, with grant awards ranging from $400 to $25,000. Priority will be given to applicants who have farmed 10 years or fewer, generational transitions, producers of livestock for kosher or halal markets, requests for robotic milking equipment, and applicants who have not previously received a Livestock Investment Grant.
