‘Operation Grow’ Supports Veteran Farmers in Alabama
Alabama Extension’s ‘Operation Grow’ is offering hands-on programming and multi-faceted training across the state of Alabama for veterans interested in farming. The three major objectives of Operation Grow include training, networking, and sustainable support. This includes hands-on and virtual instruction by Extension specialists. In addition, a supportive network helps veteran farmers find human connections within their communities and beyond, including access to fellow producers, funding opportunities, and governmental and organization support programs. The program also coordinates rental access to farm equipment for beginning veteran farmers.
