Internship information
General Farm Description: Hearth Farm is a 4 acre, diversified and deeply regenerative operation run by a farming/restaurant owner couple. We grow row crops and culinary herbs, fruit trees, raise some pigs and sometimes forage the beautiful Snoqualmie Valley for other wild ingredients. Hearth Farm fuels the farm to table restaurant the Grange, 5 miles down the road and our valley's community gathering space. We run a vermicomposting operation with the Grange's back-end kitchen waste, which is fed to our 7 large worm bins, broken down into compost and applied to the fields to grow more produce.

Hearth Farm wants to help launch a future farmer!   We are looking for the right person to help Hearth Farm grow our standard fare for the restaurant.  YOU, in turn, can grow on part of the land for your own farm business. We supply equipment, tools, land and land lease, irrigation well and supplies;  YOU are experienced in farming enough to run Hearth Farm part time and your own farm the rest of the time. Marketing and contract options through the Grange restaurant, as well.

This is a perfect position for someone with 2-3+ years farming experience who thrives working alone in the field, adores being outside and working hard, and wants to try out their own recipe for regenerative farming/composting/ vermicomposting on some fertile valley soil 25 miles from Seattle.
