General Farm Description: Oak Spring is a small, intensive Certified Organic market farm in Northern Baltimore County, MD with a diversified vegetable production and pastured eggs. We grow over 40 different crops and market our goods through a 200+ member CSA, our farm store, Baltimore restaurants and a local farmer’s market. Internship Details:

Do you dream of owning your own farm? Have property but don’t know how to make it into a profitable business? Want to work outside, stay fit and eat the most wholesome foods available while feeling apart of something bigger and more meaningful? Want to learn what farming is all about from seed to sale? We are passionate about growing nutrient dense, delicious food for our community, educating them on the importance of regenerative agriculture and urging and enabling them to spend their food dollars local!
We love what we do and it shows. Farming is hard work. Efficiency and mindfulness are hugely important. When we all work together towards a common goal satisfaction at the end of each day is easily achieved .
Interns will be exposed to and trained in most all of the following:

Seeding, Transplanting, cultivating, harvesting, irrigating, poultry care
help with packing and delivery of csa shares
Help with harvests, seeding calendar, irrigation for crops, high tunnel, tool and equipment maintenance
help with farmer’s market and farm store


Educational Opportunities: Interns will have opportunities to visit and tour other local market farms, attend Future Harvest/CASA field days and attend pertinent trainings. Everyday is an educational opportunity in that the Intern will be trained in nearly every farm job from seed to sale. We believe in matching up people with their skill set. IF you are specifically interested in one aspect of the farm we will help you to learn and practice that skill set.

Skills Desired: A strong interest in organic vegetable production with diversified crops Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently Desire to work with people and communicate effectively Physical stamina and strength to easily lift and carry 50lbs A desire for efficiency, detail, and a sense of urgency Willingness to take initiative and take on responsibility We seek interns who have a serious interest in organic farming, strong communication skills, who can stay upbeat in stressful situations, and shows up daily with commitment and enthusiasm. A typical summer work week will be 6 days/week up to 45 hours. Spring/Fall/Winter is closer to 37 hours

Meals: No, we will provide farm produce but the intern is responsible for pantry staples and any extras.

Stipend: Yes, $1,800/month which does not include room
