New Online Platform Connecting Michigan’s Retiring Farmers with Successors

The online platform MIFarmLink has connected 12 farmland sellers with buyers who will farm the land, since expanding to statewide operation just last fall, reports MLive. The FarmLink program specializes in helping retiring farmers connect with aspiring farmers looking for land, in order to help keep land in agricultural production and help new farmers get started. In some situations, retiring farmers are seeking to lease land to young farmers as a way to pass on their knowledge and transfer a working operation to a new generation.
