Micro-Grants for Food Security Program

The fiscal year 2024 application period is open through May 21, 2024.
USDA is accepting applications for the Micro-Grants for Food Security Program (MGFSP), which assists agricultural agencies or departments in eligible states and territories to increase the quantity and quality of locally grown food in food insecure communities. Agricultural agencies or departments competitively distribute the funds through subawards to eligible entities that support small-scale gardening, herding, and livestock operations in food insecure communities in areas of the United States that have significant levels of food insecurity and import a significant quantity of foods. Eligible applicants are agricultural agencies, commissions, or departments in Alaska, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, Hawaii, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Republic of Palau, and the United States Virgin Islands.
