Climate Resilience Strategy for California Agriculture out for Public Comment

The California Department of Food and Agriculture is inviting public comment on the Climate Resilience Strategy for California Agriculture through November 7, 2025. The Climate Resilience Strategy for California Agriculture outlines a comprehensive vision to help California farmers, ranchers, farmworkers, and agricultural communities prepare for and adapt to current and future climate impacts. The Resilience Strategy is structured around three key pillars:
1) Support a Thriving and Resilient Food Sector – addressing workforce development, infrastructure, energy, and economic sustainability;
2) Protect Natural Systems Critical to Agriculture – focusing on water, biodiversity, soil health, and pest management;
3) Encourage Resilient Agricultural Practices – promoting innovation, climate smart farming techniques, and long-term adaptation.
The California Department of Food and Agriculture encourages all interested stakeholders, including farmers, ranchers, industry partners, researchers, advocates, and community members, to review the draft and provide feedback.
