Federal funding is available in Wisconsin through USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service to encourage and promote conservation planning and conservation practice implementation in urban, suburban, and other small-scale type agricultural operations. Emphasis will be placed on projects that establish new demonstration community gardens, or enhance and expand existing community agriculture projects. Funding for technical assistance to plan and implement gardens is available. Additionally, funding can include purchase of garden supplies such as tools, seed, fertilizer, soil and soil additives, irrigation materials and other materials. Grants range from $5,000 to $250,000.
