Dairy Cattle Feed Lowers Methane Production

University of Florida researchers published a study in the Journal of Dairy Science on their work to develop a dairy cattle feed supplement that results in less methane production and allows the animals to retain more energy. The scientists developed a supplementary feed containing flaxseed and pea protein that they report reduced methane production and improved overall digestion in laboratory testing. The next step is field testing for the new supplement.
