The Midwest Forest Farming Coalition located at Lincoln University has published Forest Farming in Missouri: An Overview of the Production of Non-Timber Forest Products. This book is interspersed with references and applications that are relevant to Missouri and the Ozark region while also providing an overview of the practice that aspiring forest farmers anywhere in the temperate U.S. will find useful. The publication introduces forest farming and continues step-by-step with site assessment, soil preparation, sourcing plants, and market considerations. It also includes case studies, planning aids, and information on funding resources. The publication, funded with SARE support, is available online for download.
