Georgia Organics Honors Sustainable and Organic Agriculture Leaders
Georgia Organics announced the recipients of its 2024 Annual Awards, which celebrate exceptional contributions to organic farming and Georgia’s local food community. This year’s honorees are trailblazers in advancing sustainable agriculture, education, and responsible land stewardship. Cashawn Myers, co-founder and Executive Director of Helping Africans By Establishing Schools at Home and Abroad (HABESHA) Inc., will receive the Barbara Petit Pollinator Award for his impactful work in promoting sustainable agriculture through education and advocacy. Julia Asherman, owner and operator of Rag & Frass Farm, will receive the Land Steward Award for her steadfast commitment to organic farming and soil conservation. Her Certified Organic farm is celebrated for its diverse offerings including heirloom seed production, specialty watermelon, cut flowers, and sugarcane syrup. Georgia Organics will present both awards at the inaugural SOWTH 2025 Conference in Atlanta on February 5, 2025.
