Handbook Helps Communities Consider Heirs Property in Disaster Preparedness
The Georgia Heirs Property Law Center released a new publication, Community Planning Handbook: Reducing the Impact of Heirs Property & Natural Disasters in Georgia. The 28-page handbook is available online and is designed to help foster community resilience by raising awareness of how heirs property hinders disaster recovery and how heirs property resolution can be built into disaster preparedness efforts. With approximately $47 billion worth of heirs property in Georgia, its impact on community resilience can be considerable.
