We are looking for people who are interested in trying to run a small scale market garden. This could be a good experience for someone who might want to start your own farm one day, but first wants to see if he or she can be profitable farming a couple acres.
Educational Opportunities: Through first hand experience growing crops, you will learn about the challenges of growing in the hot, humid summers, and the mild winters.
Skills Desired: Not necessarily, mainly looking for people who are interested in experiencing farming in Florida for at least a growing season (summer and the warm weather crops or winter and the cool weather crops)
Meals: Prepared lunch on Mondays, Wednesday’s, Fridays. Will provide food for preparing your own meals at other times.
Stipend: Small stipend possible based on experience, work ethic, and long term commitment. However, our idea was that interns who help establish the market garden could make money by selling whatever they grow or raise.
Preferred method of Contact: Email
