Internship information
General Farm Description: Squashington is a small-scale, certified-organic, CSA , wholesale, and farmers market farm. Much of what we do is by hand, with non-mechanized tools. We recently purchased our own farm (!) so will be expanding slightly from our 3-acre production. Our farm is very dynamic, diverse, and ever-evolving. We are looking forward to hiring two part-time crew members from April - October to join our team to grow healthy, nutritious, high-quality food for our community. We want to foster a happy and healthy work environment and would love to retain committed employees long-term. Food is the reason we farm. We love it. Growing it, eating it, and giving it to those we love. It's an incredible job to have. Farming allows us to get outside everyday, use our minds critically and creatively, and gives us freedom to do what we want, and how we want to do it. As farmers, we literally reap what we sow. Our motivation yields bounty, while our short-comings equal loss. It is the definition of a learning process, and every year we learn more and more. We hope to always grow food for ourselves, our friends and family, and our community. Squashington Farm focuses on healthy, sustainable gastronomical choices for our community. Gastroethics.

Internship Details:
We welcomed our first child in April of 2022 and our second in September of 2023! We were so lucky to have a team of wonderful “sitter-shares” to help us through that HUGE transition.
This is where you can come in! If you enjoy children, babies, entertaining little ones and making sure they don’t die, you might be perfect!
This position is much like our Field Worker Share position expect rather than helping with field work, you will keep an eye on our little nugget, Hazel and our wee bundle, Reishi! A four-hour shift will get you a box/bag of produce! Hazel is a super fun, pretty chill, funny, and out-going little kid with a wild streak and Reishi is just starting to show us who she really is… Details TBD.
