Internship information
General Farm Description: Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, Blue Oak Farm is a diversified family farm full of thriving vegetables, fruit trees, flowers, and animals. We grow a wide variety of high quality heirloom and specialty produce including apples, pears, peaches, jujubes, berries, vegetables (from arugula to zucchini), grass fed lamb, and beef. Our farm is blessed with a year round growing season and nice hot summers that allow multiple successions of tomatoes, melons and other heat loving crops. We direct market all of our produce locally through our CSA, farmers market, and restaurant sales. In addition to providing our community with healthy food, we also strive to open the farm to as many people as we can through school field trips, farm days and other community events. Our farm is surrounded by some of the world’s most stunning natural beauty and we encourage our crew to get out in it, whether hiking on our own nature trails or weekend trips to nearby Yosemite.
