We are seeking two hard-working interns for the 2019 season, March through November. Hours start slow in March, but are @ 50-60 hours week June through November. At Cherry Grove Organic Farm, we offer a great learning experience through a hands-on approach to all aspects of farming. Work will include seeding, planting, harvesting, tractor work, cultivating, attending markets, and many other jobs associated with running the farm. Several former interns have successfully gone on to farm on their own.
Our one position is for that farmer who has had previous farm experience (completed a full season) and is looking to take it to the next level in terms of learning how to manage all aspects of a small farm. The pay for this position is $13/hour and includes worker's comp, fresh vegetables, and potential for end of season bonus. Potential housing available.
The second position is available to a person who is interested in working on a farm, but may not have previous farm work experience. The pay for this position is $10/hour and includes worker's comp, fresh vegetables, and potential for end of season bonus. Potential housing available.
Having gained all my experience in farming through internships, I feel that at Cherry Grove Organic Farm we are especially capable of offering a great learning experience to serious individuals who wish to pursue a career in farming. We have had several former interns placed in farm management positions.
