Internship information
General Farm Description: Sabellico's Greenhouse and Florist is a family-run farm in Hopewell Junction, NY, dedicated to growing plants, flowers, and food for our community since 1950. Our CSA program is a natural extension of our commitment to sustainable agriculture, providing fresh, locally grown produce to our members. As an agricultural and horticultural organization, we blend traditional wisdom with modern growing techniques to cultivate high-quality plants while minimizing our environmental impact. We take pride in using sustainable practices that enhance soil health, conserve resources, and promote biodiversity. We value collaboration and look forward to working with like-minded individuals who share our dedication to this meaningful and rewarding work. Sunny Vale Farm is located in Wappingers, NY, 2.6 miles from Sabellico's. Established in 2020, we are proud to continue the long legacy of Hudson Valley agriculture while providing sustainably raised food with care for our community and the environment. Although not organically certified, we utilize organic practices and chemical-free inputs. On our farm we raise vegetables, herbs, fruits, flowers, and free-range chickens. Our Partnership is a unique collaboration between two local businesses. Together, we generate synergy between a state-of-the-art nursery and the farms on both sites to produce an abundance of healthy food while limiting negative impacts on the environment. Most of the food grown at our two farms is purchased and consumed within 10 miles of our farms.
