General Farm Description: Squash Blossom Farm is in its 9th season of producing delicious, nutrient dense produce for the mountain resort community of Sun Valley, Idaho. We use intensive growing practices to produce high yields of fresh vegetables on approximately 3 acres, all of which is sold direct-to-consumer via local farmers markets, CSA, and local restaurants and health food stores. We implement holistic management practices, utilizing large scale cover crop rotations and grazing of our small flock of heritage sheep - keeping soil health and balance at the core of our operation.

Are you interested in actively participation in a local food system? Contributing to the production of sustainable, delicious and nutritious veggies for your friends and neighbors? Doing meaningful work that has a direct positive impact on your community’s health and wellbeing?
As a full time crew member at Squash Blossom Farm, you will establish a well rounded understanding of food production and holistic management practices on a small scale farm. Farm Crew members will be working in several areas of the farm including but not limited to bed preparation, planting, weeding, irrigation, harvesting, washing/packing, rotational grazing and sheep management, and other general farm maintenance. Most of our work is human-powered, but there will also be some small-medium sized tractor work. You will be working as part of a crew of 2-5 crew members.
Full Time Position is seasonal (April-November) and full time (40-45hrs/week), but could evolve into a year round position with benefits for the right person.
Candidates must be positive, open-minded and willing to learn, adaptable, enjoy working outside, and able to do strenuous labor in all the conditions that Mother Nature throws at us. Experience not required, but at least one season’s experience on a small-medium sustainable farm or similar operation is a bonus.
