General Farm Description: The Patterson School Incubator Farm (PSIF) is an incubator farm program that provides affordable land, equipment, living space, and training to start-up level sustainable agribusinesses. PSIF owns and leases two greenhouses, high tunnels, tractors, biochar kilns, and ample arable land on our 1400 acre campus. As an educational non-profit, we also host on-site workshops and seminars centered around sustainable-agriculture and food-system related topics- which are free to our incubator farmers.CRAFT Member Farm? Internship Details:
Patterson School Incubator Farm (PSIF) interns will have the opportunity to interact with and learn from a variety of sustainable farm businesses. PSIF currently hosts a poultry producer, lavender grower, herbalist, hemp producer, and market gardener- and we are always looking to expand. Interns will provide assistance to PSIF staff in building and maintaining shared equipment and infrastructure, producing biochar, growing crops in unused plots and greenhouse space, and preparing for on-site educational events.
Compensation will be based on experience and desire to live on campus. Patterson can provide interested interns with dorm space (complete with a full kitchen and heated showers) and ample camping space. Pets welcome!
