General Farm Description: Facebook, Waterbear Farm CSA. https://www.facebook.com/me/ 5 acre market garden using Organic and Biodynamic methods. Small tractors and cool implements and tools used extensively. 25 years and going! Situated in a cool mountain town with lots of music, festivals, and events. Farmers market and wholesale. Internship Details:
Starts mid april and continues indefinitely.
12 hrs a week of hoeing and weeding.
5 hrs a week of clean up organizing
10 hrs a week spraying, planting, plant care chores, watering.
17 hrs a week harvesting and going to market.
45 total.
Communication requirements.
– submit daily summary of work done.
– google doc review of daily /weekly plan.
– ability to have zoom or video calls.
– have a working smart phone with video and photo ability.
I am often off the farm for a week or two.
When i am there your hrs can be reduced and days off taken.
Starting salary for full time is 250 a week plus 10 percent of all sales whenever we gross over $800 weekly. We average around 1000 a week. Ex; we gross 800, you get $80 plus 250. We gross 1000, you get 100 plus 250. Salary can be higher based on experience and references. Increases available as training progresses.
You must live on farm. No rent or utilities. Lots of veggies to eat.
I have a nice cabin with electric and water, kitchen, outhouse, plus bathroom and hot shower in main house. Wifi in barn area.

Important points.
1. Work ethic, stamina and ability to take good care of self to be available for the heavy times as well as take advantage of break times and days off.
2. Excellent communication skills required.
3. Ability to organize and maintain Technical details of work, clean standards in harvest room.
4. Must be very willing and capable of following instructions, clarifying details and getting jobs accomplished correctly.
5. Attention to detail with plant care, and harvest.

Skills Desired: Must have a valid drivers license and drive to market, 10 minutes from farm. 2 -3 weekends a month using farm van. personal vehicle is not required. bike is great!
