Internship Starts: Any time
Internship Ends: TBD
Number of Internship Available: One, possibly two, if a couple (we only have a small living space for interns).
Application Deadline: none
Minimum Length of Stay: 3 months

Internship Details:

We are looking for a hard working, dependable and competent person, or couple, interested in learning about organic dairy and livestock farming. Responsibilities will include milking, haying, running equipment, feeding animals, cleaning barns, putting up and taking down fence, feeding animals, washing eggs, bottling milk, managing the farm store etc.

Educational Opportunities: Learn all about organic farming with cows, sheep, pigs and poultry. Sustainable land and small farm management. Homesteading skills.

Skills Desired: It would be nice to find people who have worked on other farms before but it is not required. We are willing to train the right people. We need individuals who can safely work with large animals. Individuals with experience on other farms with livestock would be preferential but is not necessary if those applying feel they are comfortable working with livestock. We are also willing to teach people how to operate farm equipment if they don't already know how but, again, they must be comfortable with the idea of working with heavy equipment. Most importantly we need people who are dependable, can problem solve and work on their own.

Meals: Yes, we can.

Stipend: No, but could be discussed after a trial period.

Housing: We have a small box truck that has been converted into a guest room.

Preferred method of Contact: email
