Internship information
General Farm Description: Mohala Farms is a 6-acre organic farm and non-profit organization located in Waialua on the North Shore of O’ahu. Since 2005, we have been building the farm’s infrastructure and revitalizing the soil – bringing the land back to a state of healthy productivity and abundance. Our mission is to foster healthy local communities through the power of sustainable agriculture, lifelong education and cultural and creative arts. In the spring of 2009, commercial sales of the farm’s organic produce kicked-off and has steadily grown each year in both produce supply and number of customer/accounts. As a non-profit organization, we complement our work as farmers with a broader mission of allowing the farm be a place of learning, inspiration, renewal, advocacy, and community service.

About the Program

Mohala Farms’ Internship Program offers a hands-on experience for individuals seeking a deeper connection to land, community, and purpose. Interns join our working farm and communal living ʻohana, learning through daily practice, shared responsibilities, and meaningful contribution. We are in an exciting period of growth, building out new market garden systems, revamping our CSA and tackling lots of new projects!

We value initiative, creativity, and a spirit of service, encouraging interns to bring their unique skills while embracing opportunities for personal growth, entrepreneurial thinking, and collaborative living. A willingness to honor, learn about, and engage with Hawaiian culture, values, and the spirit of aloha is an important part of the experience. Exceptional interns may be invited to explore longer-term opportunities with Mohala Farms.
