Internship information
General Farm Description: Nestled in the hills of southern New Hampshire, Camp Glen Brook is a long-standing educational and wilderness camp committed to fostering curiosity, creativity, resilience, and responsibility in young people. Through small group experiences, outdoor adventure, and meaningful work, campers are invited into a community that values both personal growth and care for the living world. At the heart of this work is the Glen Brook Farm—a working, diversified educational farm that serves as both a classroom and a cornerstone of daily camp life. The farm includes vegetable gardens, pasture, and livestock, and is managed using ecological, soil-building practices rooted in stewardship and regeneration. Campers and staff participate directly in the rhythms of the farm: planting, harvesting, caring for animals, cooking from the garden, composting, and observing seasonal change. The farm is not a side program at Glen Brook—it is a living teacher. Through hands-on work, shared meals, and close observation of land and animals, campers gain a deep, practical understanding of where food comes from, what it takes to care for a place, and how human choices shape ecological health. The farm grounds the camp’s broader mission by cultivating patience, responsibility, cooperation, and a lasting connection to the natural world.CRAFT Member Farm? No

The Farm Educator teaches daily farm classes that explore the full cycle of food and farming at Glen Brook: harvesting vegetables, caring for animals, building soil, collecting eggs, exploring pollinators, cooking from the garden, and more. Classes are experiential, age-appropriate, safety-oriented, and designed to nurture curiosity, confidence, and stewardship.
When not actively teaching, the Farm Educator works alongside our Garden and Farm Manager on the day-to-day operations of the farm—planting, weeding, harvesting, animal care, and seasonal maintenance that keeps the farm running smoothly.
This role is ideal for someone who loves teaching youth, thrives outdoors, and enjoys the blend of education and real farm work.
Educational Opportunities: Farm Educators at Camp Glen Brook gain hands-on experience in outdoor teaching, youth development, and small-scale regenerative agriculture. Working closely with the Garden & Farm Manager, they learn practical skills in vegetable production, animal care, soil health, composting, and farm systems, while developing confidence leading experiential lessons for ages 8–16. This role provides meaningful professional development for those interested in education, sustainable farming, environmental work, or summer camp leadership.
