General Farm Description: We do everything by hand on this small 1/2 acre farm in Dexter, Michigan. Growing for Market and CSA we have a variety of vegetables and flowers we produce.

Seva Farms, in Dexter Michigan is open for and Internship for the 2026 growing season, April – November.
Join our team of enthusiastic farmers in a fun and uplifting environment growing vegetables, flowers, and regenerating our soil.  Hard work is expected moving mulch, compost, carrying harvested vegetables, washing, packing, and loading and unloading for weekly farmers markets.
Learn about No-Till small farm agriculture, Biodynamic methods, Korean Natural Farming practices, deep compost mulch systems and organic fertilizers. We have two hoops houses and a half acre field in production and grow for a weekly Farmers Market and a CSA membership program.
Qualifications:
– Experience farming is not necessary – although the ability to rake a bed and spend long periods of time on your hands and knees is required.
– able to lift 45 lbs
– clear communication around scheduling and commitment
– able to follow directions and think creatively to navigate challenges that arise on the farm.
– being flexible with inclement weather events
Compensation:
– Hours: 10 or 20 hours per week
– Shifts:  two 5 hour shifts or four 5 hour shifts per week (flexible on days and times)
– Internship 1: summer stipend of $1200, May  – August. 10 hours/week
– Internship 2: 3 to 6 weeks at 20 hours a week – stipend of $600 – $1200
– Potential to be hired as a farm crew member after 2 periods of internship is completed – pay $14-$16 an hour
Duties:
Field work including bed prep, transplanting, sowing seeds, weeding
Harvesting, Washing and Packing and preparing for market
Farmers market and CSA set up, sale and breakdown

Educational Opportunities: Learn by experience! You'll understand how a small farm operates and functions to serve 50 families a week for the entire growing season. Tasks you'll learn include planting, cultivating, pest management, disease management, no till practices, organic methods, biodynamic methods of farming. Washing, packing and preparing produce for market sale. CSA day. Farmers Market booth set up, sale and customer service.

Skills Desired: Must be physically fit, able to work hard for hours at a time in inclement weather and challenging conditions. Must have experience working on a farm, growing up on a farm, studying agriculture or gardening experience. Must be able to get on the ground and up again easily
