General Farm Description: Full Well Farm is an organic no-till farm in Adams, MA owned and run by Meg Bantle (they/she) and Laura Tupper (she/they). We grow vegetables and cut flowers on 2 acres of permanent beds at a hand-scale. We sell box-style veggie CSA, flower CSA, attend the North Adams Farmers Market, and work with local food access partners. The farm focuses on food access, soil health and community. We are transparent business owners, happy to share information with crew members. Small Scale, High Production Farmer 2025 Seasonal Position Description
Full Time (35-40 hours) positions available beginning in April and May 2025, ending September and October 2025
The schedule is generally 5 days/week, which may include Saturdays for Farmer’s Market.
We are seeking farmers who have experience farming and wish to work in an environment where they will continue to grow skills, work with autonomy, and contribute to a collaborative culture.
We are a small crew of 6-7. You will work together with the farmer/owners, with coworkers, interns, and independently. You will receive training on all tasks. Here is a list of some of the main activities:
- Harvest vegetables and cut flowers with quality and efficiency in mind
- Wash & Pack vegetables with care and accuracy
- Plant, weed, spread compost/mulch and use low-tech tools to prepare and maintain beds efficiently
- Deliveries: drive the farm’s Chevy Express van to deliver local orders
- Greenhouse sowing/seedling care
- Work with and help teach interns and volunteers in a positive, inclusive manner
- Skill share with coworkers
- Possible Farmers Market days: set up, maintain, take down an attractive display, engage with customers and support an inclusive farmstand
- Understand SNAP/HIP and provide friendly support to customers
Educational Opportunities: We are a CRAFT host for tours though we do not have CRAFT apprentices. Learn directly from the farm owners on the job. We like to ask employees their interests and as much as possible to allow you to explore interests and deepen skills.
Skills Desired: We are looking for someone who: Has full time farm work experience Seeks physical activity in daily life and in all weather conditions Is self-motivated Sustains motivation and positive spirits in challenging situations Is able to lift 50lb, to bend, squat, be active all day Listens to directions, asks questions, and is willing to seek guidance as needed Is dependable, efficient and precise Enjoys being a contributing member of a dynamic and supportive team of farmers Safely operates equipment (training is always provided) Shares a passion for social justice and a desire to be part of building a more equitable food system Is actively committed to anti-racism work and an equitable inclusive workspace As there is not adequate public transportation to the farm, we recommend applicants have a vehicle or bicycle A valid license with a good driving record is required to fulfill job duties
