Internship informationGeneral Farm Description: "We are a family goat dairy in business for 23 years. We milk over 80 does and turn all the milk into goat cheese which we either wholesale ourselves or sell at farmers markets. As we are around 70, we depend on young interns to do most of the farming. Anne runs the cheese room and involved a lot in that area. I do marketing and oversee the goat herd. And all purchasing etc. Located on the banks of a salt water river with kayaking , swimming and wildlife. Quiet and peaceful. "20 acres of wooded land.

We are looking for one full time person. One day off a week. Involves milking with a pipeline and then turning the milk into cheese. Plus upkeep of the buildings. And going to farmers markets. We have three interns usually.
You will be taught all phases of the operation so everyone does different jobs all the time. Self starter important!
Educational Opportunities: Huge library dealing with many ag subjects. Also practice alternative health. Goats and us !!
Skills Desired: "Dedication , honesty, interest are the three most needed skills. We will train what you need to know. Ability to lift 50 pounds necessary. Can work up to that!"
Meals: "We provide food needed for all people. Separate kitchen where all interns cook, clean and socialize. Shared cooking. Usually Asians interning full time. So best if you like rice and Asian cooking. Many fresh vegetables during the summer from our garden. "
Stipend: stipend paid based on work effort. And quality of work. $600 to 1,400 depending on time commitment .
