The Opportunity:
We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly, and reliable individuals to join our team as U-Pick Farm Associates. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who loves the outdoors, enjoys interacting with people, and takes pride in providing an exceptional farm experience.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
As the face of our You-Pick operation, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming, safe, and educational environment for our guests. Key duties include:

Guest Services & Hospitality: Greet visitors with a warm smile, process payments, and answer questions about the farm and harvesting techniques.

Field Management: Direct guests to the correct picking areas, demonstrate how to harvest different crops properly, and ensure fields are kept tidy.

Quality Control: Monitor the fields for ripe produce and gently guide guests to the best picking spots.

Sales & Operations: Operate our point-of-sale system (Square), handle cash and card transactions, and manage the checkout station.

Safety & Sanitation: Enforce farm safety rules, maintain clean common areas, and sanitize shared tools and containers.
Who You Are:

You have a positive, can-do attitude and enjoy working with people of all ages.

You are reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

You are comfortable working outside in all types of Virginia weather (heat, sun, light rain).

You can be on your feet for extended periods and are able to lift 25-30 lbs.

You have basic math skills and are comfortable handling financial transactions.

Previous customer service or retail experience is a plus, but a willingness to learn is most important!
The farm is 1 acre of permanent raised beds with well for irrigation. One heated nursery, one heated 24×96′ double poly high tunnels with electric and water hydrant, one 24×96 double poly high tunnel with electric and water hydrant, cold storage/pack shed, dry equipment shed for your gear, 732 BCS w/ tiller and precision depth roller, five 40’x100′ tarps (varying conditions), overhead microspinners, xcel wobblers with header hoses for irrigation, drip tape avail, 100+ 72/128 cell seed trays, paperpot transplanter, 40+ paperpot trays, 3 paperpot chain boxes (CP303, LP303-10, LP303-15), Paperpot Quick Drop Seeder, jang seeder, earthway seeder, 3′, 7′, 15′ wide landscape fabric with holes for crops, greens harvester, wash station, harvest totes.
Pay based on experience. I am part time on the farm, so good self discipline and time management is a must!

Meals: What you grow. Discounted pork, beef, venison, and chicken raised on farm.
Stipend: $300-600/week. Pay based on experience. Possibly more if we the numbers work out.
Housing: RV electric hook up is available for an additional fee. Free water.
