Leopold Conservation Award Now Offered in Mississippi

The Leopold Conservation Award is now offered in Mississippi. This prestigious award, given in honor of renowned conservationist Aldo Leopold, award celebrates voluntary conservation efforts on farms, ranches, and forestland by recognizing landowners who inspire others with their dedication to environmental improvement. Sand County Foundation and national sponsor, American Farmland Trust, present Leopold Conservation Awards to private landowners in 28 states. In Mississippi the award is presented with the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation. Nominations may be submitted on behalf of a landowner, or landowners may apply themselves. Nominations for the Mississippi award are due by July 30, 2024. The award recipient receives $10,000, and their conservation success story will be featured in a video and in other outreach.
