Momentum in Minnesota for Small Grains and Milling

A recent workshop held by the Land Stewardship Project highlighted small grain production and processing efforts in Western Minnesota, reports Tri-State Neighbor. Farmers are re-discovering the potential of small grains to diversify income, improve soil health, suppress weeds, break pest and disease cycles, and strengthen community economies when they are processed locally. The workshop included a tour of Sand Hill Mill and presentations from regional producers and industry experts who see potential for small grains to aid both farmers and local economies.
