NCAT Accepting Applications for Armed to Farm in Oregon

NCAT, Central Oregon Veterans Ranch, and Soil Sense Consulting are offering a veterans’ sustainable agriculture training in Redmond, Oregon, April 13-17, 2026. Armed to Farm gives military veterans an opportunity to see sustainable, profitable farming and ranching enterprises and learn about farming as a career. The Armed to Farm in Redmond will include a week of engaging classroom sessions, farm tours, and hands-on activities around central Oregon. Participants will learn about whole-farm planning, farm financial planning, crop production, soil and water resource management and mapping, marketing, and more. The program is available to military veterans who are interested in starting a farm or who are beginning farmers (less than 10 years). The program is free to selected participants and includes lodging and most meals. All veterans are welcome to apply, but those from Oregon and the Pacific Northwest region will receive priority. The application deadline is March 18, 2026.
