Project to Develop Agritourism Guidelines

A national team of agritourism experts received funding from USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture for a project that will develop guidelines for generating agritourism revenue. The three-year project will train Extension educators to work with farmers on implementing agritourism operations successfully by addressing issues such as liability, zoning, and regulations. The first year of the project will involve developing a curriculum for training educators, based on input from a diverse group of stakeholders. In the next two years, team members will train educators and gather feedback from farmers, as well as promoting the curriculum nationally and even internationally.
