Short Film Highlights Importance of Mentorship for Beginning Farmers

The latest installment in Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education’s (SARE) video series, Practical Tips for Beginning Farmers, features Washington farmer Warren Miller on the importance of mentorship. Miller took over the 1200-acre family farm in the Palouse region of Washington State growing wheat, barley, and canola. This four-minute film narrates how, after Miller’s father passed away, neighbors and local farmers became important mentors, offering support and knowledge that ultimately helped Miller find his farming rhythm.
