Small Business Innovation Research Program

Applications are due September 17, 2024.
USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture is accepting applications for Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer Programs Phase I (SBIR/STTR). The USDA SBIR/STTR Programs fund early or “seed” stage research and technology development. Key differences between the SBIR and STTR programs include the percentage of research conducted by the partnering company. The programs provide equity-free funding and entrepreneurial assistance to small-business concerns to enable them to undertake and to obtain the benefits of research and development in order to maintain and strengthen the competitive free enterprise system and the national economy. SBIR/STTR are intended to support scientific excellence and technological innovations. Approximately $13 million is available for small business concerns through SBIR and $2.5 million through STTR.
