Regenerative Agriculture Conference Highlighted Carbon Economy, Carbon Measurement, and Producer Experience

The Nebraska Association of Conservation Districts reported on a Regenerative Agriculture Conference that took place in Seward, Nebraska, in January. Presenter and Green Cover Seed co-owner Keith Berns used an economic metaphor to illustrate the importance of carbon in the soil economy. Another keynote speaker, Mitchell Hora, founder and CEO of Continuum Ag, explained how carbon intensity scoring will make it possible for farmers to obtain returns on their soil health investments. The conference also included a panel of producers who shared lessons they have learned in implementing regenerative practices, such as the potential for capturing rainfall, the importance of a systems approach, and the need for patience.
