USDA Announces Investments in Fertilizer Production Expansion Program

USDA announced that it is awarding $83 million through the Fertilizer Production Expansion Program (FPEP) for projects in 12 states. FPEP provides grants to independent business owners to help them modernize equipment, adopt new technologies, build production plants, and more, to boost domestic fertilizer production, strengthen competition and lower costs for U.S. farmers. The current round of funding includes $25 million for a food-waste upcycling facility in California, as well as facility expansion grants for other projects.
