Video Highlights Programs that Can Help Beginning Farmers
Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) released a new video in its Practical Tips for Beginning Farmers series. In the three-minute film “Leverage Public Programs for Land and Support,” Rhode Island farmers Alby and Heather Brandon discuss how public programs and creative partnerships can help grow a thriving business. The Brandons explain how land leasing opportunities and their state’s farmland access program helped them obtain land to farm, and how federal programs helped them obtain funding to start and maintain their business.
